About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel New Zealand without dying
ABOUT ME
I am slowly discovering the things about life that I love.
As of right now I strongly enjoy hiking, kayaking, cooking, eating said cooked items, singing and making music (attempting to learn how to play the ukulele, though not having a ukulele to play while traveling makes the whole thing a bit difficult), science, and education. I also am strongly passionate about social justice and interested in talking about it.
I'm still trying to figure out the things I like, so I'm certainly up for adventure of all types. If you think that fishing on a unicycle sounds like a fun idea, I'll probably be down to at least try it.
PHILOSOPHY
Adventure is out there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm just getting started, so right now I participate by working on this profile and getting ready to enter the CS community. Eventually I would like to have a couch of my own, but until October I likely will be unavailable to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Well, I don't really have any yet. I read about the project in a newspaper a while back and keep getting wanderlust and wanting to run off on grand adventures, and now I have run off on one and grand adventures are challenging to fund or freedom camp. I'm hoping that couchsurfing might help me make friends worldwide and learn more about the places I am passing through
Interests
Painting - especially with watercolors, hiking, kayaking, dancing - of all kinds, cooking (the current obsession is Indian food), eating (all things, especially spicy Indian food), sleeping, drawing, reading, watching movies, walking around - with purpose and aimlessly, parties, tea, relaxing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to music in binges. I have a nasty habit of putting one song on repeat until the whole song is permanently stuck in my brain, but I usually only do that alone or when I'm with close friends. I like folksy music like Josh Ritter, the Beatles, the Velvet Underground, the Doors, and most other bands really. I'm open to all kinds of music except for modern country - not a huge fan yet.
Jazz is . . . groovy, fantastic, energetic, cool, innovative . . .I'm a big fan even though I'm new to the genre. If anyone has some excellent Jazz suggestions I am quite literally all ears.
As with music, I enjoy good movies. I have a softspot in my heart for old Disney animation. I like action movies, and comedies, and dramas, and pretty much anything that is good. I like a little bit of the mixing of fantasy and reality, as that's always fun.
BOOKS! I really like to read, and while traveling I have been making some serious progress on reading lists. I just finished some Vonnegut, a novel called Namesake, some of Oliver Sacks' medical literature, and a few episodes in the Sherlock Holmes adventures.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Graduated university, got rid of at least half of what I owned and flew across the world on a one way ticket.
I managed to survive hiking in the Himalayas with a vengeful case of food poisoning.
I get out of bed every day :)
Still working on it . . .
