I was on Couchsurfing to connect with people around the world and to share and be shared with, with no strings or money attached. The monetization of Couchsurfing under a corporate model has led me to abandon my many years with this site and migrate to BeWelcome.com, an open-source, non-profit based platform that lives up to the ideals Couchsurfing used to be about.
