About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to balance a life of work and play!

ABOUT ME

Born in Alaska I have grown quite fond of the untamed Alaska experience, "oh there is a mountain! let's climb it!" However at least once a year I like to get out and enjoy all the other wonders out in the world, especially in Dec/Jan! I built a cabin about 10 miles out of town, in my early 20's near a giant river named the Tanana and I currently still live there. I currently am a Structural Engineer, however am fantasizing about building a teardrop trailer to sell coffee and live as a gypsy for the next couple of years.

PHILOSOPHY

The "world as if". Philosophies are meant to serve what you understand to be you; and thus one must be ready to be highly dynamic in the beliefs that one has.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being able to share what you have, whether they are stories or a place to stay is what makes life rich. I like to participate in both.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted counch surfers, but never surfed my self. Something that I hope to change soon! The most spectacular couch surfing experience that I have ever had a part in was when I met a man in the jungles of Borneo from Australia, he was the first white person that I saw in 2 weeks. Told him that he was welcome to stay at my house in Alaska anytime, 4 months later, he shows up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is where you name drop a shit ton of countries right? Instead, I will give you the most recent and terrifying.

Got lost in a giant geoid cave by myself and then dropped my head lamp and had to find it with my iphone . the head lamp was stuck in a crack wedged between some large crystals, I had to take my boots off and reach for it with my foot. I am still in that cave.... joking, I found my way out:)
