About Me

Hello world! My name is Emily and I am a traveler just beginning her adventures around the world after a lifetime of wanderlust and longing. This past year has been life changing and I was blessed with so many experiences and opportunities. During the winter I backpacked around Europe solo for 9 weeks, using Couch Surfing frequently as I traveled from Spain to Amsterdam to Budapest and everywhere in between! This spring I went on a solo camping road trip down the Highway 1 on the West Coast for a month; I drove from Denver to Seattle, Seattle to L.A., and home through Joshua Tree National Park and the Grand Canyon. To top off this amazing year, I will be backpacking around Europe again for the month of July before I return to University to continue my studies.
I am from Denver, Colorado in the United States (the state with the most state pride!) I graduated from an arts high school last year after majoring in theatre for the past 6 years. Though I love theatre, I am ready to move on with my life. My true passion is helping others and I hope to pursue human rights and humanitarian work abroad as a career.
Also PLEASE NOTE: I only will host/stay/meet up with people who are verified! Please respect that!(:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because I think this is an amazing site with the goal of connecting genuine people internationally and making traveling accessible to everyone, not just those who make enough money to spare. My favorite part of my experience with couch surfing so far has been what I learn from my hosts. There is so much different insight and knowledge to be acquired from people around the world, and I have found this site to be full of people with fascinating facts and information about things I didn’t even know I wanted to learn about! I don’t think it gets much better than making a new, local friend with lots of insight, whilst also getting a safe place to sleep at night!(:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
