Overview
About Me
I'm a 26-year-old Métis woman living with my longtime partner, Erik (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/erik-klassen). I'm a sociology student and work two jobs. I like to have a good balance of socializing and alone time in my life and enjoy talking about languages, culture, and sometimes politics. I identify as feminist and hope to one day combine my love of writing with my desire to work with Indigenous women in the inner city.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've lived in Winnipeg for most of my life but have always enjoyed travelling, learning, and meeting new people - couchsurfing is a brilliant and unique way to do those things.
Interests
I'm interested in food, nutrition, and cooking (particularly in learning about the ways these things differ from culture to culture). I like to read/write/edit, go see live music, and try to take up crafty hobbies. Erik is into history and the outdoors (hiking, canoeing, fishing, etc). We go camping often during the summer and like to play music - there are lots of guitars at our place that you’re welcome to use if you enjoy playing music.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll give most music a chance! I generally prefer folk, reggae, and mellow indie-electronic music. I have too many favourite books and movies to list, but I love reading and watching anything that's about food/gastronomy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm not an extraordinary person but I've witnessed a lot of love in my lifetime and that's amazing enough for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think we can teach and learn a lot by exchanging ideas. Above all, I/we like to share stories, experiences, and laughter.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook you dinner, help out with household chores, and try teaching you a bit of French (or, if you speak French, we can laugh about the differences in our accents/dialects) :)
