About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To teach ESL in Rural Communities! And welcoming you to Patagonia!

ABOUT ME

I have travelled to many countries in search of traditional horse training methods. Upon my arrival in Chile, I fell in love both with the land and a man and have decided to make this my home for awhile. You can read more about me and get references on my U.S. profile: Emilie HorsesOfCourse

PHILOSOPHY

Dig and be dug in return = live and let live. Home is where the heart is. It takes a special person to want to come to Patagonia, Chile and I want to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I WOULD LOVE TO HOST YOU!
Life here in Rio Puelo is beautifully rare and I would like to share it with you by horse, foot, or in a boat!
Not many people here speak English (yet), so I would like to help visitors connect with quality local people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in many a place (without any trouble), and had fun at couch surf gatherings! I have met some of my best friends through couch surfing, and even though we know each other more virtually than in real life, I trust them and love them and we make each other laugh.

Interests

Horse training, polocrosse, hiking, learning new languages, art (painting and drawing), writing (short stories), NEW PEOPLE!

Music, Movies, and Books

TOO MANY TO LIST, but mainly books. I am not a TV person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Mongolia, I bought myself 3 horses(from horse milker's) and all of the gear(at the black market) rode 500km with a translator who knew nothing about horses. I interviewed every man that had ever trained a horse. At the end of my long trip, I sold the horses and went back to one special (non english speaking) family. They invited me by hand gestures to break one of their 2 year old horses. I accepted and within 20 minutes was galloping alone on a completely wild horse towards the mountains. The horse wanted to find the herd, I wanted him to listen to his new rider, me. After an hour I got him headed back to the ger and we were both drenched in sweat upon arrival.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have learned that silence is golden. I have learned that we have all that we need in every moment if we choose to see it that way. I have learned that horses have a lot to say if you will listen.
