My name is Emily and I enjoy many many things in life, a few of which is traveling and living cheaply. While I am from the US, I have also lived in Austria on two separate occasions. Right now, I live in Grandville Michigan with my husband, Stefan, our 2 year old daughter and our 11 year old greyhound, Duke.
I quit my job to travel, now I raise my daughter full time.
We live on a lake with fun activities year round- swimming, fishing, kayaking, ice skating etc.

We provide an excellent home environment for digital nomads with an office space available upon request.

We are in walking distance to a bus station that runs to and from down town Grand Rapids.

I speak English, German, and Spanish. I am currently learning Arabic.

We have a baby who is 2 years old. Hosting right now is a little more difficult for us, so shorter stays with surfers who don't expect us to be able to hang out all the time are preferred. References are preferred. Your initial request is very important on how I will decide if you can stay with us.

We do accept first time couch surfers without references BUT you must be as detailed as possible in your request to stay. I will want to know why you are visiting, what your tentative plans are for your stay and why you choose to stay with us. If this information is not provided, your request may be denied.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a pretty big extrovert, which for me means that meeting new people is an amazing experience. Why would you book a hotel, when you could stay with friends that you just haven't met yet?
