I am 25 years old, American, worked in Bordeaux France teaching English to elementary school children last year, this year I am in a graduate program there. I am relatively close to being fluent in French, and I know basic levels of Portuguese. I love running marathons, being generally active and doing the unexpected. I'll try most anything twice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because I want to meet local people when I travel. I like to see cities from the perspective of a local and not necessarily how the tour book tells you to see it.

I listen to just about everything, I love classic novels and movies but also enjoy other film genres as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a marathon without training for it
I have driven from Maine to Los Angeles in 4 days
Hiked to the top of Masada to watch the sunrise
When I live in a city for more than 6 months I find a tall statue to climb (I have done this in Paris and Boston so far).

Teach, Learn, Share

I am extremely interested in learning about any and everything having to do with the host's culture and language. At the same time, I would enjoy sharing pieces of my culture as well.
