About Me

My name is Emily and I'm 20. I love to explore, no matter If it's my home town or another place far away. I have traveled to many states and also to Mexico and some Caribbean islands and Puerto Rico. All my experiences abroad have been on cruises, which were awesomely fun and funded by my parents, but now that I'm old enough to travel on my own, with my partner in crime, my boyfriend, Sam, I want to see and do as the locals do. I want to see the world as if it was my own back yard. I'm ready to take flight and see the world my own way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to connect myself globally and get an inside look at what it is like to live in another place. I've lived in one small beach town my whole life, which I have loved. Being a local to the place where people came to vacation was always nice. I knew all the spots to go and where it would be less crowded. I am looking to see other people's corner of the world, the secret spots and hidden gems.

Interests

I love children. I am a full time nanny and hope to someday open my own home daycare. I also love to cook. My boyfriend and I always try to make a meal when we see each other on weekends. Food has and always will be a huge part of my life. I love nature, hiking and swimming. I would say I'm very diverse. Let's hike a mountain by day and then get dressed nice and go out for the evening!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music for me is all over the place, I don't stick to one favorite or genre. I open to listen to just about everything, but the lyrics are what draw me to artist like Ed Sheeran and Brantley Gilbert. The lyrics are what speaks to me. I love books about real experiences or things that could have happened in real life. I like to connect to what I'm reading on a personal level.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I've done is volunteer in programs for children with special needs or circumstances. The kids teach me way more than I could ever teach them. They make me see things from a different perspective and to live passionately and simply and to be honest. Kids don't hide things. They feel things, do things, say things and basically live their lives to full capacity. They don't hide who they are, and I try to be that way with myself and others.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can teach someone is perspective. I've been through a lot and experienced a lot and I can teach someone how to see the other side. But on the other hand, there is so much I haven't experienced and so I have so much left to learn. The world is a big place, but when you take the time to learn an individuals story it becomes a little smaller. I want to share who I am and the reasons behind me, my purpose if you will, with others and in return I hope they share theirs with me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share who I am, my experiences, my view points and my own unique perspective. I can also share some fun, good food and whatever else comes our way. I can share an open mind and friendly smile and a warm heart.
