About Me

My dream has always been to travel.. since receiving letters and hearing stories of family members travelling when I was young. After finishing education myself and my boyfriend George worked hard and set off in 2014 to do the classic introduction into travel around South East Asia. For the last two years we have been travelling and living in New Zealand. We have again been working hard to make are next dream happen... India.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Even though I created my profile back in 2012 after hearing about the platform through my mum's friend who had two guests staying with them for a while I have yet to get properly involved in this community. I often hear of peoples best experiences of travel through this platform and wish to get involved.

Interests

I am one of those people who never stops thinking about food. Apart from perhaps 20 minutes after I have eaten. I love to cook. To experience a culture is to experience a countries food. I am all about food markets but then who isn't. Aside from that I love the beach, a good gallery and dancing outside.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching films anything from a dark thriller to Seth Rogen comedies. I read books about travel Wild and First Overland stick out. Music it has got to be the oldies David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few weeks ago I rescued a little bird I believe it was a male Chaffinch. It was face up on the ground soaking wet so I carefully scooped him up and popped him in our warm car. He started to warm through but was still not in a good way so we took him back to our house and nursed him back to health. Once he seemed perky enough we drove back to the spot where we found him and as we drove closer to this spot he started to attempt, for the first time, to push his way out of the make shift box we had cobbled together. We wound down the window and he jumped on the edge turned back for a few seconds as if to say thank you and flew home.
