About Me

I am a recent college grad and I am looking to do a little traveling before I settle down and do more adulting. I am educated as an engineer, but my passion is in design. In my free time I like weight lifting, running, yoga, dancing and I really love to cook (I'd be happy to make dinner for you&yours). I love learning about other cultures and trying things that I don't know all that much about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to travel the world on a budget and meet new and interesting people!

Interests

As I said in my about me section, I like all of the above things. My passion for exercise and physical fitness really just supports my love of food. But I did kind of grow up in the backwoods when I was a kid, so I love the outdoors. I am also really passionate about environmentalism (even though traveling by plane is a little hypocritical, I know), and I can tell you endless amounts of facts about the environmental impact of clothing and how to reduce your impact. I can also make you dinner while saying these facts!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most music, but particularly music with a happy tone and upbeat feel. I also like most movies, and particular comedies but please please don't make me watch any horror movies! And for books... My favorite genre is autobiographies of comedians (Amy Pohler's 'Yes Please,' Aziz Ansari's 'Love in the Modern Age', there's a long list), and non fiction books about neuroscience written for a layman audience (tales from two sides of the brain, the female brain, why we lie, etc.). But growing up, I think I listened to the Harry Potter series about 9 times through and do enjoy the occasional scifi book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I created a dance performance where I built all the costumes that lit up with LEDs and were controlled with sensors (7 in total), choreographed parts for 4 other dancers, designed the programs and posters, manages the PR, acted as stage manager, light designer, and music curator. I did this project as my senior thesis and it was pretty awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am not sure what to share here that is different than the one below... But I can teach, learn, and share!

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I can teach most dance styles
- Great at cooking (I can cook or teach people to cook)
- Really good with computers, especialy macOSX
- Really good with the internet, especially Chrome
- I played flute for 10 years in orchestra, so I can teach beginner/intermediate players

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Honduras, Mexico, Spain
