About Me

Hello there! Like the rest of the human race, I find it difficult to describe myself in a bio but just to give you an idea: I'm Emmet, I'm a musician and music teacher based just outside Tullow in Co. Carlow, Ireland.
I have never used my account to host surfers or stay with hosts, but my good friend and housemate while in College did use our shared couch to host some people, so I guess I've half-hosted some people before

A few bits about me...

I'm the third oldest of 6 kids and grew up on beautiful farmstead beside the river Slaney in Co. Carlow.
I was home educated until 16, when I enrolled in a 1-year college course and subsequently went to study a Bachelors of Music in Dublin.

Over the course of 20 years, my family played to host to nearly 100 woofers from all around the globe, and so I have grown up with a passion for language exchange, organic farming and communal living.

I speak a few words of Spanish and German, but only speak English fluently. Would like to learn Italian, Japanese, and Sanskrit but happy to have a go at any language.

Fan of games, which were a big part of my upbringing. Particularly Football, Ping Pong, Chess, Pool, Snooker, any all card games, everything by Nintendo, Hide-and-go-seek, etc.

Love my coffee. Fond of a Guinness. Mostly eat a plant-based diet, but occasionally enjoy myself with a piece of meat or cheese.

Just a bit of a dreamer who loves sea swims, forest walks, campfires, sing songs, and good people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While living in Dublin, my housemate and oldest buddy, hosted a couple of couch surfers and I always thought it was such a great idea for travelling and meeting new people.

I would love to see more of the world and intend to travel in Europe during the summer. I am looking at the possibility of couch surfing / woofing as a means to achieve this. Until then I'm happy to show people around Ireland as I drive and can advise on much that there is to see here.
