Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My first couch-surfing experience was on a spur of the moment hitchhiking trip. After a wonderful introduction to the community, I undertook a several month long motorcycle adventure and surfed with a lot of phenomenal people. My life is settling down for the time being, I've got a new house and I'm eager to start contributing my share to the community that has helped me so much.
I hope the community is still thriving when the itch to do it again becomes too strong to ignore.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Great, everyone I've met and everywhere I've stayed has exceeded my expectations. All the individuals I've connected with have been friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to interact with. Telling me about the best of the locale, sharing stories of our travels and experiences, eating well and all else. Couldn't be better.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a great quantity of music, across a variety of genres. I like to think that, whatever your taste, if you share it with me, I can share something you'll enjoy.
I'm an avid reader, with a bookshelf that is home to a lot of "hard" sci-fi. If you care to browse, you'll also find a healthy mix of the classics, historical fiction, and a fair variety of outliers. I prefer concepts and setting to characters, but always willing to pick up something new.
Not really a movie or TV guy, but I'll sit down to watch a recommended movie any time there's company to enjoy it with.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 19, and without a clear idea of where I was headed I sold my car, bought a motorcycle, packed what I could fit in a couple of bags, and set out for the horizon on a shoe string budget. My trip eventually took me over 5000 miles over the course of several months, through some of the most remote and beautiful places in the US. I couch surfed where I could, camped with just a worn out second hand sleeping bag and a tarp where I couldn't. I met some of the most remarkable individuals I'll ever have the pleasure to know, and not once did I ever feel in danger. It was a defining experience in my life, and gave me more valuable new perspective than I could ever quantify. I will be forever grateful to the kind, hospitable, and generous individuals I met along the way who made my journey possible.
