About Me

Hello! My girlfriend Kendall and I are keen cyclists and climbers, and have had the most amazing experiences being hosted through CS and WS while doing cycle tours. We did an amazing ride to San Francisco from Vancouver last summer and are now gearing up to cycle around Croatia in August this year! We are looking for hosts, friends, and advice-givers.

A bit about past travelling...

In Summer 2012 I cycled from Victoria, BC to St. John's, Newfoundland as part of the Pedalling for Papua campaign (check out my website for details). And now it's round #2!

In 2013 I cycled 12000 km over 6 months through 7 countries for the second Pedalling for Papua campaign. I went from Vancouver to Washington, DC, Ireland, The UK, The Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia. Both campaign covered about 20,000 km and 100 presentations. It was awesome.

In 2014 Kendall and I cycled from 900 km from Vancouver to Central British Columbia (Canmore). First tour as a couple and truly an amazing ride.

In 2015 Kendall and I cycled from Vancouver to San Francisco. It was unreal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've hosted a bunch of people at my old house via my roommates being all about this site. It was the best, I love having people stay over, chatting and showing them around. This year it`s been a little slower because we have a baby in the house and are trying to keep things a little calmer. I'm was a couchsurfer for the first time in May 2010 when I biked from Vancouver to Alberta, and it was a truly amazing experience. Since then Couchsurfing has been absolutely vital to my travels, infusing the experiences with so much joy and company - its hard to describe! I am immeasurably grateful for this resource and the incredible community that supports it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam in a thunderstorm in warm, phosphorescent water on an island in Vietnam. Every time a raindrop fell it would light that spot of the ocean. Like swimming in the milky way...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach guitar, mandolin, ukulele, basic bike repair, rock climbing technique, Indonesian, and the best (and simplest) pancake recipe you've ever had. And I'm a certified laughter yoga instructor.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Comfy couch in the living room and info about Vancouver! We're students who are actively going into debt so we unfortunately cannot feed you, but would be very happy to have family dinners potluck style while you are staying.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Indonesia, Ireland, Laos, Netherlands, New Zealand, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
