Overview
About Me
Hey there! I am a new resident of Reykjavik, Iceland (born and raised in the USA) and am looking to use this opportunity to travel more internationally. I am studying Icelandic at the University of Iceland, and can speak it fairly well. I am a special education teacher by training, and work as a special education assistant here in Iceland at an after school center.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First, I love meeting new people from the different areas that I visit. It's not enough to just go see some tourist attractions. Getting to know the people who live in a new city is the heart of getting to know that area. Second, living in Iceland is crazy expensive so most of my income goes toward simply existing... so I'm looking to cut any expenses I can to make traveling more of a possibility!
Interests
I love to be in, on, or near any sort of body of water. Trees make me incredibly happy. Politics are important to me. I enjoy snowboarding and bouldering when I can. I wish I had more time to read leisurely.

Stood on the most western point of Europe (not counting the archipelago of Azores, so says Wikipedia) - Látrabjarg, Iceland.
