ABOUT ME

I'm half-humanitarian half-overachiever with a dab of creative oddball. I'm quirky, cheerful and very self-motivated. I believe in the power of laughter and spirituality. I love surprises and believe that all things work together for good. I am passionate about life and believe discovering its essence means surrounding yourself with different opinions, cultures and ideas.
I'm planning on traveling abroad again in the next year to teach English either somewhere in Europe or South America.
I am studying in Barcelona Spain until Dec. 20 and done the most traveling I've ever done in my life. Coming from a family with parents who've had nothing more than a high school education, this is something I'd never dreamed of doing.
I'm studying journalism, business and Spanish at Texas State University and graduate next year.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some friends and I stumbled into bar in Barcelona where the Barcelona group was hosting a language exchange. I had no idea such a concept existed but I immediately signed up and hope to become a host and hosted in the near future.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Helped build a house in New Zealand, skinny dipped in the Mediterranean Ocean and tutored Algebra to 68 inner-city middle school children.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can share: I am fluent in Spanish and am a fanatic of Chicano cultures. I'd be willing to teach whatever I know to anyone who's interested. I can also teach you some basics about digital photography and how to write a good news article. A journalist by trade, I am a tiny storehouse of tidbits of interesting information which makes for amusing conversations. I also love to salsa (even though I'm still learning) but would love to teach anyone wanting to learn the basics.
What I want to learn: I would love to learn more French. I actually studied the language for 3 years but have forgotten most everything.
