About Me

I'm not often home. Actually, my summers spent next to the beautiful lake Memphrémagog in Québec, Canada, are fewer than the summers spent abroad. Having travelled with my family when I was younger, I remember the first trip I did alone with my friend when we were 12 yo : put on a bus, we were ready to visit Ottawa, 6 hours away from home.

Since then, I did an English immersion in Victoria BC (Canada) and worked two summers in France, as a teenager animator in a 1000+ poeple camping. My friend and I got the job with skype, and we succeded to get there even with the never ending french rules. Since then, I travelled more again, and I'm eager to discover more countries in order to meet new people with amazing stories. I'm not in a hurry to see the world, I want to take to required time to see it details. And I have all my live to see it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Whenever someone is coming to visit me in my home country, I am on a mission: I have to be the best host, because I know that when I travel abroad, I am never deceived by my hosts, who allow me to discover their world with a very personalized angle. Being hosted by people who live in the visited countries always lead to new experiences, and hosting gives me a reason to discover my own place.

Interests

I would say that I'm an easy traveler, being abroad for more than 8 months this year. I am more spontaneous than ever, ready to new experiences. I really enjoy challenges while travelling, and this is why hiking and other outdoor sports suit me well. I live in Prague since February, and the thing I enjoy the most about this place is the large number of amazing parks, where my regular jogging becomes fascinating.

I'm also interested in geopolitics and history, and meeting someone from a new country allows me to discover more about how they live their. I have to say that I'm interested in structures, studying in engineering and being interested by efficient and modern architecture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to discover new bands, whenever genre it is. I'm no hipster, but maybe just for music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being part of a group of six engineering students, we fundraised and planned during more than a year the construction of a dormitory for 56 girls in Malawi, Africa. (http://gcius.ca/index.php/projet-2014-liwonde-malawi/21-uncategorised/projets/projet-2014-malawi/58-projet-2014-liwonde-malawi-english) In fact, we spent three months there last fall, managing the construction and living as a part of the malawian family, under a burning sun. To bring so many people to work together on this project (school teachers, mothers, students, workers, village chiefs) is the biggest achievement of this projet, and of course the completion of the building is rewarding.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experience as a guy from Quebec who wants to travel the world! (even if this is cliché). No kidding, I enjoy to do active activities as much as to share a deep conversation about the Indochina war.
