About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world, or some it, or most of it and to meet some adventurous/spontaneous/genuine people to eat soup with. Oh and learn! I want to learn a lot because I have a lot to learn.

ABOUT ME

I love photography (go here to check out some of my work http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephgarrahan) and music. I'm afraid of heights (apparently they call it acrophobia), but I'm desperate to get over it in order to stand on high mountains and see the world from a different angle. I love nature and being outdoors. My favorite scent is patchouli on a man or a woman. I took piano lessons for about 6 years as a child, but don't practice much anymore, although I do know how to read music and can, to a certain extent, play by ear. I want to meet people that are adventurous, spontaneous, peaceful, wise, genuine, honest and beautiful. I have a couple of them in my life right now and I'm very grateful.

PHILOSOPHY

A lot of people enjoy being dead. But they are not dead, really. They're just backing away from life. *Reach* out. Take a *chance*. Get *hurt* even. But play as well as you can. Go team, go! Give me an L. Give me an I. Give me a V. Give me an E. L-I-V-E. LIVE! Otherwise, you got nothing to talk about in the locker room. - Maude, Harold and Maude

Interests

Photography, music, reading, hiking, walking, riding my bike, writing, dancing, exploring, learning, the lighting between 5:30 and 7 on summer evenings, the sun, going into my attic and finding new old things, used bookstores, movies......

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Interviewed Minus the Bear at a local dive bar and then partied with them. It was like going backstage except better.

Teach, Learn, Share

Procrastination and resistance are actually much more bothersome than the task at hand. When you put something off and keep putting it off and then you finally do it, you come to the realization that doing it is actually much easier than the mental anguish you put yourself through just thinking about how hard it MIGHT be.
