Overview
About Me
I'm an entrepreneur from the Netherlands. Currently, I'm building a startup in cultivated seafood. Instead of growing whole fish, we grow their cells. These cells can then be used to make delicious salmon fillets.
When I'm not nerding around in the lab, you can find me swimming, sailing, or rock climbing. Every once in a while I escape the gloomy Dutch winter, by traveling to some place sunnier.
One note: I know some people see Couchsurfing as a dating app. While I love meeting people, I’m interested in making new friends, not new partners.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best form of traveling is when you learn about new cultures and make new friends. I love Amsterdam and I would like to show it to others. And when I'm abroad, there's nothing better than staying with another couchsurfer!
Interests
Very into entrepreneurship and sailing. I think it's important to leave a mark on the world and to change it for the better. As for sailing, we often rent sailing yachts with friends, and travel around Holland. It feels brilliant to take others out to sea and show them how fun it can be.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: indie rock and anything upbeat. Books: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Roadside Picknick, and any travel guidebook.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I tried to climb the Mont Blanc mountain. We got stuck on the way there due to bad weather, had to make an emergency shelter in the snow, and return down in dense fog in the morning. Would 100% try again!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you to sail, cook you a mean chicken curry, or share the two ends of a climbing rope!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good conversation, a fun hike, the warmth of a campfire, the satisfaction of figuring out how to climb a new route, or some delicious seafood pasta.
Countries I’ve Lived In
Germany, Netherlands, United States
