About Me
(ihr könnt mir gerne auf Deutsch schreiben // pueden escribirme tranquilamente en español)
I studied Translation at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2018/2019, I was in Köln/Cologne in Germany on Erasmus exchange, still having a post-erasmus depression💁♀️. It was a life in a year experience.
From October 2019 to March 2020 I traveled Ecuador. I volunteered in a hostel in Quito, experienced the violent national strikes, fell in love with Cuenca, did the Quilotoa loop (my personal favorite), attended the mama negra traditional festival in Latacunga, visited cloud forest in Mindo, coastal village Mompiche, Amazonian rainforest, the biggest Southamerican market city Otavalo and a lot more. It was the first time I used Couchsurfing as a guest and I met some amazing people.
In 2021/2022, I did my second Erasmus in Leipzig, Germany and even stayed there a bit longer while working in administration and figuring out some things.
Currently I am living in my homeland again. I work in Ljubljana as a marketing analyst on permanent contract and I'm (still) dealing with my old debt which is my master thesis in translation (any Soy Luna fan out there?).
disclaimer: Yes I am introverted but this hasn't stopped me from traveling, it just means I do not talk all the time or I need some time for myself as well💁🏻♀️.
Please remember, Couchsurfing no es Tinder!

Music, Movies, and Books
No favorites, but a movie I know by heart is Mamma Mia (I somehow still need to watch Part 2!). I also love the hilarious Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu.
Last movie I watched: Paradise
Currently watching (telenovela): Café con aroma de mujer
Last earworm: Billie Eilish - When the party's over + TV
Currently reading: Meg Jay - Why 30 is not the new 20
As a child I was an avid reader, especially the fantasy genre (Eragon, His Dark Materials, Inkheart, House of Night, Vampire Academy) but then phones happened and I lost my passion which I regret but have not yet found a way to break free from phones and return to the wonderful world of books.
I kind of collect tote bags:D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Participating in World Youth Day in Krakow in 2016 with around 3 million adolescents from all over the world, meeting the pope, singing, celebrating life, youth and faith. A very memorable experience! And I will never forget the yellow, blue and red rain coats we all wore and how cool it looked from the bird perspective.
An "upgrade" of Krakow was the World Youth Day in Lisbon (2023). My most special memory is from the very last night when all pilgrims slept outside under the stars after having the vigile with the pope. When the official evening programme was over, everybody was (a bit illegally haha) passing through the sectors, talking, dancing, sharing, exchanging little gifts and getting to know people from countries you never hear about (like El Salvador) - it felt like an eternal night in a "World Youth Day village".
Teach, Learn, Share
If you are around, I can give you a tour around Ljubljana and teach you about Slovenia! I can also take you to Šmarna Gora which is the most popular Slovenian hill for people from Ljubljana. It is not difficult, about 35-40 minutes of ascension and at the top you can try some typical Slovenian dishes that I genuinely recommend, my favourite is "ajdovi žganci". A nice half-day trip.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a guest I can teach you some Slovenian words (only spoken by two millions people), play a song for you (I know one in Spanish) and keep you company! Unfortunately I am not a good cook to cook something Slovenian (actually there are only few such things and I can't prepare them sorry:/) but I sure can help you with anything you would like me to.
