About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Never reaching a destination.

ABOUT ME
Until recently, I was still seeking...something. I seemed to feel closer to "it" when I was connecting with other people on their own paths. Recently I re-discovered the "it" I thought I couldn't find (and how sweet it is!). I also love music, both playing and listening. And literature. And folklore. And most any other random cool, weird, interesting thing you can come up with. One might say that I'm easily distracted!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a Christian but am very tolerant of those with different beliefs. We can discuss spirituality, or not. I enjoy discussion, not arguing, or trying to force it if not welcomed. I also value and honor the earth and all that we here to protect, as well as enjoy, rather than exploit. Perhaps that is where I and many Christians may have some different order of our priorities in how we view our responsibilities while here (hopefully not).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I've hosted a few times, in two different places where I lived, and have only surfed once myself, but I love love love this concept and always tell myself I need to remember to utilize this more when traveling for job interviews and such, and remember to update this here profile when my circumstances change (and here I am doing just that, yay go me!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a cool Australian traveler in my room at a youth hostel in Zurich, and I went along with her to meet a friend of hers. He told me about CouchSurfing and it sounded awesome. So far, it's been all good, every time. I strongly believe in the mission behind CouchSurfing: to bring people together, open our minds and hearts to each other, and make travel more possible for more people. And screw the hotel/Air BNB industry...free is where it's at. If I have it to enjoy for myself, I'd rather share it with others. And there have been times, oh have there ever, when I have needed too. And have been so thankful for the generosity of others. That's also what, to me, this is all about.

Hiked in the Swiss Alps. Lived homeless and near penniless, and lived to tell the tale, for 4 1/2 months while going through a divorce. SURVIVOR!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn/practice Italian and Spanish. I enjoy cooking together, jam sessions, game nights

What I Can Share with Hosts

a sparkling personality and long-winded stories :) I might be able to cook you something up if you'll let me near your kitchen and some ingredients! I also mix a mean margarita if you are into that whole drinking in moderation thing.
