Overview
About Me
Hey! My name is Farahin. I am from New Jersey and have lived her for half my life. Previously I lived in New York (Queens), but moved to NJ in 2003.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet people and travel the world where I can meet like-minded people and gain all sorts of perspectives and live life like I'm in college again- late nights, weekend plans every weekend without having to tell parents, freedom and autonomy etc. Also, it seems like a cooler cost-effective alternative to staying in a hotel or hostel.
Interests
I love meeting people and learning about them. When I meet someone and I am getting to know him/her I tend to ask 1000+ questions, only because I genuinely care! I belive in good first impressions and offering second (sometimes third) chances. My interests include music- singing or playing the piano or attending a multitude of concerts and festivals, traveling, shopping, biking (not competitively), volunteering/going on service trips and making the most out of life.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to sing in the high school choir, but now I do it for fun, mostly in my bedroom. Some of my favorite artists/bands include Coldplay, Muse, Missy Elliott and Alicia Keys (my list of favorites is bigger than this, tbh). I'm not so good with movies, but I love Big Daddy and Rat Race and 21 Jump Street, just to name a few. I'm also not an avid reader; I'll read something that everyone's talking about. I love The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns and the Hunger Games. Again, that's naming a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing I have done while I was at Rutgers was that I hosted a leadership conference in 2013 called the Mark Conference. It's all about leaving a mark in the world, in the community, in someone's life, in a positive way no matter how big or small. I got to share the stage with a fellow co-host whom I became good friends with and I got to meet the guest speakers and student speakers at the conference. I was very passionate about getting involved in student activities at the university-wide level and I will always encourage people to get as involved as they can, as there are so many great learning opportunities and awesome people to become friends with.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that everyone has a worthwhile story to share. We all know something someone else doesn't, which is absolutely fascinating.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am very personable and approachable and I try to open my mind and my heart.
