About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding myself, remember who I am, Healing my relationship to myself and the world around me, Creating Joy.

ABOUT ME

I'm a freelance consultant based in Washington, DC. I travel all the time, mostly for work or to connect with folks doing amazing land-based projects in the US. Trying to do some international travel this year. I nerd out about social movements, afro futurism, healing, agriculture, cooking techniques... I'm pretty versatile.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." -- Helen Keller

"A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles." – Tim Cahill

“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J. R. R. Tolkien

“Adventure is a path. Real adventure – self-determined, self-motivated, often risky – forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind – and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black-and-white.” – Mark Jenkins

these quotes are like an amalgamation of where i am at the moment... they say it much better than i can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participated heavily as a college student in 2010-2011. I'm back now to make new connections in this community as I'm finding myself on the road a lot, and want to find like-minded people to share a meal or share space with. I also have my own home now, so when I'm not traveling, I can have guests. I just enjoy getting to meet other people and building connections across the world.

Interests

traveling, writing, music- listening or fiddling around on the guitar, reading, learning people's stories, dancing, meditation, hiking, swimming, generally being outdoors, cooking, learning new and random facts... just learning anything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

went on a safari in tanzania and was almost trampled by some elephants... so yeah, i've had the chance to meet more than a few elephants up close and personal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A genuine, authentic, open spirit. A great hug. Smile. Cook a meal! Love to barter and exchange skills. I'm mainly a project manager, event planner, and facilitator, but we can share ideas about how the world should work, and learn from each other.

Countries I’ve Visited

Guatemala, Mexico, Tanzania
