About Me

Hey everyone :D

My name is Filip Popović and I am a twenty year old living in Belgrade, Serbia, born in Las Vegas, USA. I'm currently studying Polymer Engineering, am a teaching assistant in Petnica Science Center, and a TV host on a national tv show "Provetravanje".

I have a house full of pets: a small dog Buzz named after the main character in "Toy story", a hedgehog Mersault named after the main character in "The Stranger" and a young brother Oliver, named after Olives.

I have the most fun girlfriend in the world, Nina, with whom I love to be with and travel with almost everywhere

Most of all, I like to hang out with my friends Tasin and Mateja.
We are all best friends for many years and joking around with them is the best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going to write the most unoriginal thing but that is the point of couchsurfing.

I want to meet new people. Traveling to a foreign country, meeting the locals, and having guests as foreigners in your home country are eye opening experiences and brings a certain freshness to a persons life.

Interests

I am addicted to learning new things, normal workdays can turn into 8 hour long marathons about molecular biology or philosophy or anything else that is interesting to wrap your mind around. I'm an avid user of duolingo and edx.
So I have a lot of random knowledge about magic tricks, juggling, riddles and so on

Reading and poetry is a sincere passion of mine, along with snowboarding and cycling.

I teach chemistry and science to middle school and high school student in Petnica Science Center. I help around the lab a lot and organize many experiments for educational purposes along mentoring summer science projects.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you wanna know anything about science, chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, Serbia and about the Serbian Language or Snowboarding
I can teach you a whole bunch of stuff
also some magic tricks too

Learning? I'll learn pretty much about anything, if you'll teach me something interesting about ancient greece needle weaving, I will learn about ancient greece needle weaving

I'll share the hell out of everything I can

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you need a person to chat with, or person to share a beer with, show you around the local night or introduce you to the cultural scene you wont find in tourist books about Belgrade, send me a message saying: "Goldfish look funny while climbing ladders" and i'll respond :D

Traveling, adventures, plain old talking, chilling, laughing are at the core of my relationships with my friends

So generally I can share a positive attitude and a few laughs. You know, along with the fact of lifelong everlasting friendship with a guy named Filip Popovic on this 3rd rock from the sun as we race through the vacuum of space.
