About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Existence, with a little help from my friends
ABOUT ME
I'm a laid back guy with a can-do (when I get to it) attitude. I've been described as "the nicest asshole you'll ever meet". I guess that means I'm a great human being, but can be a bit rigid in my beliefs. Though I'm a Virgo through and through (yeah, I REALLY like astrology), I find other elements of my chart really lend to its mutability.
At present, I live in New Orleans and have begun work on my bachelor's at Tulane. I'll be doing Integrated Application Development with a Web Design minor. I expect to be all sorts of full stack.
I imagine this particular section to be a work in progress (meaning I'll procrastinate it until the end of time), but feel free to help me evolve it as time goes on.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy dictates that people are free enough to do as they wish, so long as those actions bring about no harm to someone else. I also accept that people are human, thus not perfect.
I feel we have a great responsibility to each other as humans to treat one another as well as possible, for it comes back to us in greater forms than directly.
No organized religion here. The closest I get to it is astrology. I'm quite fond of it. I have, through the magic of hallucinogens, discovered that there is an unseen bond between humans that transcends the physical plane. Though I do exhibit some slight hedonistic leans, I tend to reign it in with reason and due diligence.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted some very awesome people. I also make attempts to hang out with people when they're in town, in an effort to act as an ambassador.
Just a warning: I can't offer space during Mardi Gras or any big holidays because I usually have either a multitude of friends or family sleeping here. I do, however, throw a huge party for Endymion to which people are welcome.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't surfed, but I have hosted. So far, so awesome! Hoping to change the surfing equation and fully experience.
Interests
Food (from a culinary viewpoint), music, playing pool, drinking, to an extent politics (though my head hurts lately thinking about it). Also, sports. I'm probably as big into sports as I am music, though less adept at its history.
Favorite teams:
NCAA: LSU, Oklahoma, Florida State, Michigan
NFL: Saints
NBA: Hornets
NHL: Maple Leafs (quit throwing stuff at the monitor)
MLB: Astros (quit laughing; they'll be good again - and look, they are! (May 2017))
US Men's and Women's Soccer (obvious which is better)
Tennis: Venus and Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Andy Roddick (if he'd ever win anything again)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I don't even know where to begin with classifications, so I'll just list some artists that heavily influence me/I listen to a lot:
Tool, Depeche Mode, Hybrid, BT, Sasha, Sasha & Digweed, Finger Eleven, Massive Attack, Killswitch Engage, Jeff Buckley, Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Janet Jackson, Outkast, Devin tha Dude, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins (90s era), Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Chemical Brothers, Incubus, Dave Aude, Keoki, The Crystal Method, Grayarea, Meat Katie, Deftones, Dust for Life, Adam Freeland, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Men Without Hats, Big Country, Tears for Fears, The Cure, New Order, Chaka Khan, Rufus feat. Chaka Khan...you get the drift--I'm all over the map, with heavy disdain for pop of late.
Books: I've discovered I like Stephen King's less horror-themed books (Dark Tower series, Hearts in Atlantis), John Grisham's "The Client", Maxwell Maltz's "Psychocybernetics", dictionaries.
Movies: I don't watch many of these. Just recently saw 'Hearts in Atlantis', and was thrilled with how closely it followed part of the book. Also, Kevin Smith's View Askew productions (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, and Dogma). If I'm gonna sit down and watch it, it better be funny, or at least captivate me in some way. Speaking of funny, Deadpool. Jesus that was funny even the third time through!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a fantastic road trip around the American west in 2015. I'm duplicating it in 2017 around the American east. I'm trying to expand my horizons (almost literally) and make the world smaller, especially now.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a great cook. I can't say I'm a great teacher of same, but I'm willing to sit down and work with people with regards to recipes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good vibes, good times. I can cook, getting better at developing web pages, and I make good drinks.
