ABOUT ME
DISCLAIMER: This is not a dating website. Please do not use it to look for people to date or hook up with.
I am an international student who came to the United States for college. I have been here since 2008. I am pretty adventurous and spontaneous and love meeting like-minded people.
PHILOSOPHY
I think that the purpose of life is to spread love and compassion. Speaking of which, I recently started a blog about life and its vagaries. Please feel free to check it out and leave comments: http://khurtysmusings.wordpress.com/
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If you decide to come to Hartford, I would be more than happy to meet with you, yes you, for coffee and show you around my campus and the city. I can also teach you some French words since I am fluent in French. I also know some Hindi, though I am not an expert at it. I know Hindi only because, growing up, I used to devour Bollywood movies. Literally.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couchsurfing.org has changed my life.
I have met some pretty amazing people through CouchSurfing. They are people I have come to trust, laugh and cry with. It has been a life-changing experience. I wonder why I took so long to join CouchSurfing!
Interests
I love books and movies. I could eat them. Seriously.
I absolutely love traveling, being on planes, buses, trains. Sometimes the traveling is more fun than the destination.
I also like baking pastries. I am a great baker, but, for some reason, I don't like eating what I bake. I wonder why...
I enjoy spending time with myself, but I also relish the company of fun, inspiring and compassionate people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Mostly French singers, namely Gregory Lemarchal, Garou, Yannick Noah, Pascal Obispo.
Movies: Indie movies (Rachel Getting Married, Junebug) and, as much as I hate to admit it, I am a sucker for romantic comedies
Books: ANY good novels
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know. Just being able to visit New York City was a feat for me. I never imagined that I would have been able to set foot there, given where I come from. Also, I am one of those rare people who can touch their nose with their tongue, so that must be pretty amazing! Haha.
Teach, Learn, Share
If anyone has any recommendations for good books/movies, please let me know!
Also, as a side note, my name is pronounced like the number thirty. Some friends jokingly call me 'Thirty with a K.'
