About Me

Freelance Translator and Computational Linguistics freak.
If it has anything to do with language, it will probably spark my interest.

Growing up in Italy made me become a food-freak - but not one of those strictly traditional ones. I love tradition and revere my grandma's recipes, but I am constantly looking forward to experiment new flavour combinations (within the limits of reason - looking at you my dear "ketchup on pizza"). I love teaching it and I love learning it.
Plenty of knowledge on dishes from southern Italy and currently training my japanese-style cooking skills.

I've always been extremely fond of trekking and exploration in general, but since the beginning of the last academic year I've picked up bouldering and I am currently honing my (so far poor) climbing skills.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Learning languages, meeting new people, exploring new cities, yada yada yada...
You know how it goes, it's the same reasons why anyone would ever join this platform in the first place.

So, in my case, I only wish to add the fact that I came to dislike most new platforms putting up a facade of "living with the locals" while not caring about the actual needs and requests of the locals.
Also I joined plenty of coichsurfing meeting during my Erasmus in Germany and those were some of the best evenings I spent there.

Music, Movies, and Books

Way too long a list, but if you know why the number "42" is so important to me then we're already on the right track.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once cycled 100km on a Deutsche Bahn rental bike (and survived to tell the tale) just because I refused to give up on the quest I had set on - and because I was motivated by the delicious wurst I could eat halfway through the whole route.
I guess this tells a lot about me and my approach to life in general.

Teach, Learn, Share

Open to teach:
- Italian, German o English. Japanese basics.
- Italian cuisine.

Willing to learn:
Pretty much anything, there's just a handful of things I'm not interested in and even then it's mostly due to ignorance.

Food (as much as I am able to bring with me or cook).
A tandem partner.

Funky music.
