About Me

Retired Parole Officer. Interested in advancing Progressive causes. Have traveled in Central and South America. I live on a small farm in Kentucky. I am a non-smoking vegetarian. I do not use drugs and I use alcohol infrequently. My hobbies include restoring classic cars and playing basketball. I am divorced with two adult children and four wonderful grandchildren. I have twenty-nine years experience in the criminal justice system as a parole officer, a circuit court clerk, and a member of the Kentucky Parole Board.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Specifically, I found the site in looking for accommodations for the Democratic National Convention. I am a Bernie Sanders supporter who strongly feels that the average American should,be represented at the convention and not just the 1%.

Interests

I am a vegetarian but will eat anything under duress. I like 1970s music. I play guitar (poorly) to accompany my just,as,poor singing. I do an amature blog on FB.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have read everything by John Grishem....I am currently working on a novel (been working on it for 25 years). My favorite movies include: V for Vendetta, Casablanca, and Like Water for Chocolate. I have an eclectic taste in music. Some early rock, some country, and some folk. My favorite musicians range from Johnny Cash to Roy Orbison to Bob Dylan to Willy Nelson........

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gosh.......amazing.....I once scored a total of minus two points in two hours of basketball. Most of the amazing things that I have do not seem appropriate for this page.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a teaching certificate and a double major in History and Sociology. I have traveled quite a bit in the Caribbean, Central, and South America.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook...mostly pasta.

Countries I’ve Visited
