About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep it interesting!

ABOUT ME

Firstly, I was VALIDATED - Verified and Bonafide by Couchsurfing for years until they started charging $60. Now I'm apparently Unverified. What the? I've lived in 18 states, attended(16) K-12 schools,(4) colleges, visited 6 countries. I've played general contractor, fused glass artist, professional grantwriter, business owner, political activist, publisher, author. Mushroom hunter, flora/fauna harvester, fear of doctors, pilot, skydiver, tequila eliminates my moral values, I don't know how to ride a horse but can take you fishing!

PHILOSOPHY

I had a run-in with the Good Ole' Boys in Arkansas. Ask me what it feels like to be discriminated against in your own country! They may have systematically eliminated my career as a hot glass artist, but no matter how bad it may seem...we can always weather the storm! My philosophy now is, when the cold wind blows, dance around it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel on occassion to conferences, book signings, geologic hunting, etc. Always fun to meet people along the journey. Have enjoyed my couchsurfers as well. Never a dull experience and well worth the time!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been on couches from N.Y. to Alaska. Canada to Mexico. Easier to couch surf when you're young. Met hundreds of great people. Have not had a single BAD experience and intend to keep it that way.

Interests

I'm more kicked back these days. I don't race cars fly aerobat planes, skydive, wreck motorcycles and such anymore. Now, a very fine glass of red wine may be all it takes to call it good! I enjoy the woods, beach, camping, hiking, fly fishing, barter fairs, intelligent conversation, gentle breezes and writing.
There is nary a thing I don't find interesting. I'm a moderate person, keep my nose clean and stay out of trouble...

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: 'Art & Physics' by Leonard Shlain, 'Illusions' Richard Bach.
Music: Jesse Cook, Lou Barlow's latest album is touching. Most all music across the board is enjoyable (except maybe rap if it's rude)
Movies: Happy Gilmore, Wild Hogs makes me laugh, documentaries.
Anything with Jack Nicholson, Nichole Kidman, Johnny Depp, Whoopi Goldberg

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The ONE amazing thing I've accomplished in my lifetime? Honestly? You mean other than jumping out of planes, landing a plane through a crossing herd of elk on the runway while out of fuel at night, becoming the first female certified monolithic dome builder, becoming the first escargot farmer in WA state, force the Federales in Mexico to take me to find a bandito, question God before the entire Catholic church in the third grade, lean 45° over a windy cliff 2,000 feet above the sea with nothing but a windbreaker, face on with the KKK in the heart of their territory or build the only 1969 International 2-story school bus with my bare hands?

Hmmm... I would have to say it was having the patience to discipline myself to sit still and write the world's only true phonetic dictionary for 14 years of my life. That, I would say, has been the most impressive to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I dearly love quantum physics, the study of the electrical universe (want to meet any of these scientists) and permaculture.
Taking the time to ponder what is real. Or is it what I "think" it is? I naturally encourage contemplating your naval while you are down with an injury, there's a reason for that!
I'm practicing the Art of Urban Homesteading which includes raising escargot, rabbits, goats, chickens, aquaponics, medicinal plants and herbs along with every vegetable you can imagine! We have the fruit too! Can you sustain animals and people through the winter on 1/4 acre? Sure can! Here's how...

I have avidly studied native plants in the Pacific NW and can rattle off the various healing qualities and health benefits of hundreds of varieties. Make a 21 ingredient salad to die for, right from your own neck of the woods. You will never go back to iceberg lettuce ever again!

I'm a publisher, writer, fundraiser, grantwriter, metalsmith, glass artist, hot glass worker, carpenter, urban farmer, chef, pilot, certified monolithic dome builder, traveling companion.
