Why I'm on Couchsurfing
When I see the world, I prefer to experience the country, the culture and the people in a more memorable and authentic way, rather than just dropping by tourist hotspots. I'd love to meet and make friends from all around the world. I have so much learning and growing to do in this lifetime, and couchsurfing is a perfect way to start - whether as a surfer or as a host.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite bands include Green Day, CHVRCHES and Avenged Sevenfold. I tend to listen to rock, pop and metal. I've set myself a goal to listen to more genres of music in 2020. My childhood hero was Jackie Chan, so I love his classics from the '80s. Other than that I enjoy movies of many genres, particularly thrillers, comedies and actions. Currently trying to rediscover my childhood love of reading (though this smartphone is sooo addictive...). I recently read some books about race in the UK, which particularly interests me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you something about British culture, or Chinese culture (or what it's like being British-Chinese), or computing, fitness, cooking, music - anything I might be able to help with - just ask! I'm curious about our world, and i am always open to learning new things, big or small... whether it's helpful phrases in a new language, or some life-changing advice... whether it's about society, science, technology, politics or something else - if you share an interest with me, let's talk. And if you don't, well... maybe you can convince me!
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can offer my company and friendship. I try my best to make a positive impact on my host's day, since they are generous enough to let me stay. I am happy to give you the opportunity to judge my cooking skills 😀 I am happy to chill with you at the end of the day, or go out and explore places together.
My Interests
🍜 Food I love food - some would say too much - and would like to taste as many cuisines as possible. 🍳 Cooking Naturally, my love of food means I like to create my own. Being ethnically Chinese means I have cooking ability in my genes. 🥁 Music I am a self-taught drummer, I play a little bit of guitar and I have been learning piano (on and off). 💪 Keeping fit I like to lift heavy things. Also recently started running again; hoping to do a timed 5km event soon! 🐶 Animals I adore animals (but those with more than 4 legs scare me). They fill me with a childlike happiness, and we all have a responsibility to protect them and the world they live in.
