About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world and share life.

To find all the best lactose-free cheeses and dishes in the world!

ABOUT ME

I am Caroline (fully vaccinated!), Vizsla mom and cultural manager at the Goethe-Institut in Dublin, married to my amazing husband Nick (who is from SF and also here on Couchsurfing). We lived in the fantastic city of Berlin, moved there from San Francisco in 2013 (before that Boston), and lived in Co. Cork, Ireland, until recently.

I'm open-minded, love to laugh, and am always up for adventures and shenanigans! :-)
I enjoy good food - for the tummy and for thought - and sharing. Sharing life, ideas, experience, food, drinks, places, trips, and our apartment has become such a big part of our every days lives and, to us, is an essential part of social and interpersonal interaction. Along with respect, communication, and trust, sharing is something that fulfils us and makes us happy.

Apart from that, I have a passion for literature - hence a PhD in English Literature and Media/Film Studies which I finished in 2019 - and travelling. My life has taken me to many beautiful and crazy places and I can hardly ever sit still and wait until I get to take off again. :-)

Since there is so much else to talk about, come visit us, share life, be part of ours, enjoy, drink, eat with us and tell us your story!

PHILOSOPHY

Keep on smiling!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have both been hosted and hosted so many new and amazing people from all over the world through CS in the last couple of years that we are almost always available for shenanigans anywhere we go. Currently, I’m going back and forth between Ireland and Germany.

We also like to go to CS events or meeting but right now time is just slipping through our fingers with not enough time to even manage most of the daily things we HAVE to do.. Maybe we can teach you how to make excellent cookies or throw in some German words :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met some amazing and super awesome people through couchsurfing (like our dear friend Casey from Arizona or Bart from Belgium or Sean from Ireland!) and I truly believe it's a fantastic idea to share life with like-minded people from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Having been (and still am!) a literature and film student for a long time has led me to reading fantastic and amazing books I would never have thought about reading before.. Most recently, I've read the Game of Thrones Saga and am totally blown away by these books. Wow. Also: READ THE SHADOW OF THE WIND by C. R. Zafon. Probably one of the best books I've ever read.

Concerning movies, I love (!) Inception, Shawshank Redemption, A Good Year, Benjamin Button, Tarantino movies, oh, and Wes Anderson movies - everyone should see all of them :-)

Oh, yeah, and I have thing for watching series - if I ever have the time to do that, haha: Some of my top favourites are Parks & Rec, White Collar, Orange is the new Black, Arrow, Downton Abbey, Desperate Housewives, Revenge, Once, all the superhero shows, Modern Family, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't even know where to start.. Since there are so many amazing things to see and experience every day. My husband's wonderful blue eyes, the sunset, the sunrise, the ocean anywhere in the world, the jungle, the moon, dinosaurs, trees, a kiss, the Iguazu waterfalls,... I'm amazed by most of the things around me everyday and never get tired to learn and see new and different things..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about my culture, my languages, my experience, cookies, my life and would love to learn about yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Life, love, a good cup of tea, again: cookies and other baked goods, language, fun travel stories, laughter
