ABOUT ME

I feel young in mind and like travelling very much.
Besides travelling I'm interested in a lot of different things eg. swimming, dancing, languages, running, skiing, theatre, movies, concerts, museums... I have an open spirit! I'm always in for learning new things.
I like sports and adventure but also culture and nature. Of course I'm a social guy too who likes to laugh a lot. I like conversations about different items. My friends say I'm a very calm, friendly, gentile, relaxed and realistic person who is (mostly)always positive. I just want to enjoy life now and here.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life now! 'carpe diem'!
'Don't take yourself/life to serious'. Some people are sometimes full of theirselfs, they can't even laugh anymore.
For me humour is very important. You feel much more comfortable when you talk with people with a smile on their face. 'What you have to give/offer you often get back.'

Interests

travelling : when I get the chance I try to travel. I always wanted to go to Iran but I don't know when it is the right time to go there; sports : I used to play football (soccer) but now I swim once a week and go for running twice a week and one or two times a year I go for skiing mostly in Austria; culture : all kinds of e.g. theatre, movies, dance (Béjart, Anne Theresa De Keersmaeker, Wim Vandekeybus,...), ballet;
nature, ...
When I'm abroad I always try to do something that is special for that city/country e.g. went to opera in opera house of Sydney, ballet in St-Petersburg, listened to an impressive chorus in Moskou, opera in Vienna, did a diving course in Cairns so I could see the Greet Barrier Reef really close, flamenco in Sevilla and Madrid, concert in Prague,...and of course visiting museums too.
I also love to go on restaurant with good company and chat the whole evening.
Good conversations with friends or strangers, always interesting. You can learn so many things from each other but you must 'listen', open your ears.

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of music : pop and rock(duffy, white stripes, gossip, seal, rem, dEUS, smashing pumpkins, red hot chilli peppers, jeff buckley, david byrne, garland jeffreys, norah jones, nirvana, corinne bailey rae, the battles, lenny kravitz, radiohead, nina simone, and a lot of more different styles of music,classic, jazz,...
Books : I started reading books very late (since 7 years) so I still have to read a lot (let's say I'm a beginner). My last book was also one of the most beautiful : the kite runner.
Some movies : pulp fiction, chaos,... didn't see many films last year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef in Australia between some(little)sharks. See the Taj Mahal in India when I was very sick.... See the beautiful southern constellation with the southern cross in the outback of Australia around a campfire with all nice people from all over the world (awesome!!!). Doing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Uyuni salt lake and Potosi mines in Bolivia. Visiting Angkor Watt in Cambodia was pretty amazing. The special Mezquita of Córdoba in Spain.....

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm from the flemish (north) part of Belgium and they say we have a Bourgondic lifestyle : we enjoy life in all it's aspects. We like to eat and drink and make fun when it's possible. But on the other hand we can be very realistic too, down to earth.
