About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Preparing a PhD tackling the topic of climate change adaptation in the light of participatory processes. I want to find out if – and of yes how – participation of non-state actors might improve (or not) the planning and decision-making processes in climate change adaptation. A regional focus will be set on one or several countries in Sub-Sahara Africa.
ABOUT ME
I've studied geography at the University of Freiburg in the masters programme, after having studied a bachelor in business administration and master in finance. I originally come from Aschaffenburg, Germany. I like meeting new people with their various cultural backgrounds. I'm open-minded and enjoy talking to people to share my experiences and to learn many new things and stories from them as well :)
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy your life, respect others, make the world a better place to be, go green!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I cannot host people right now, because I am abroad in Australia right now. But I will continue to host when I come back to Germany. I've met so many helpful people in the USA via CS - I just wan to give something of it back!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm on CS since two years and I've used it quite frequently during my travels. I definitely enjoy being part of this big community that has woven this huge net all over the globe. I like the idea of giving something to people and get it back another time somewhere else by someone totally different, but in the end everyone in the network has once given something to others and taken from others.
During my exchange semester in 2013 in the US I traveled many parts of the states and met wonderful people from this community who let me into their homes and be a part of their lives. Another time in 2015 I've been in the US for two months and used CS a lot - it was amazing how open and welcoming all of the people on our way have been. Thank you!!
Interests
I like the extreme contrasts, i.e. one the one hand side metropolitan, urban and crowded places like big cities but also deserted natural places. I like sports, especially cycling, hiking, running and soccer/football. Furthermore, I'm interested in watching all kind of sports - especially live in the stadiums. I love traveling, until now I've been already to may different countries all around the world.
