About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was a teenager living in Denmark as an exchange student, I often traveled to other cities without knowing a single person and had wonderful luck finding new friends who would invite me to stay with them. I am still friends with some of them now - 30 years later! (I guess you could say, I was "couchsurfing" LONG before I ever even heard of Couchsurfing!)

I am passionate about adventure, traveling, meeting new people, living in new places, discovering artists, musicians and change-makers who are living in the places I'm exploring, and sharing experiences with new friends.

I am brand new to the CS community, so I have neither references, nor experience with how it all works, but I'm up for learning!

I did host guests in my home on several occasions through airbnb and had a wonderful time doing so!
You can see my reviews there: https://www.airbnb.com/users/reviews/133823

Interests

I'm an exhibiting artist, social activist, and performer with a passion for travel and meeting new people from various cultures.

I've hosted several wonderful Airbnb guests in my past 2 homes, but currently, I'm not in a place where I can host.
I am finally able to travel again though!

Contemporary art, music, dance and theater are my life-blood.
I'm crazy about good food and good people.

"Develop interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music – the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself."
Henry Miller

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting on a train to go to a city I didn't know (Copenhagen) to see a favorite band (The Violent Femmes) and having no idea of where I would stay (but trusting that the right thing would work out).
And it did! I met and stayed at the home of an artist friend with whom I'm still in contact today - 30 years later!

Other amazing things I've done:
Waterskiing barefoot.
Making art with homeless teenagers in New York City.
Presented healing art initiatives to women in New Orleans as part of Eve Ensler's V-Day 10th Anniversary event.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
What can I teach?
English, Italian... A few words in Danish... Maybe some things about art, music, or creative activism... and that there are plenty of Americans who are stunned and dismayed by the idiocy and corruption of certain political parties and corporations in the US.

Learn:
I'd love to learn German and Portuguese... To improve my French... And get insider information on your city or town - what locals like to do, where you like to go, how you live, and what is the going on in the creative world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to share some delicious vegetarian dishes, stories about places I've lived and traveled, and of course, my interests, stories, music, artwork, etc.
