CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
I'm pretty easy going if not somewhat eccentric. I like to think that just makes me more entertaining. I love meeting new people and learning about different walks of life. I'm always looking for opportunities to share my interests with others and to pick up new ones.
I'm also currently working on my Masters degree in mediation and applied conflict studies. Super fascinating stuff that I will chat your ear off if you get me started.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't be a dick! I try not to take things personally and see the good in anything I can. I also think the most impressive thing you can do with a mind is change it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Done a little bit of surfing, a little bit of hosting. I haven't really been in a place where I can host much yet, but I think that even just having someone to show you around a new city is a huge step in building comfort. So I do what I can to make people feel at home in the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed New York City and helped surfers get in touch with my friend Djimi in Niamey (a fellow surfer who had a more enticing couch than me). I've also hung out with bunch of surfers in England.
Interests
I'm known amongst my friends as the guy who likes stuff. In particular I am a huge game geek. I'm also a huge fan of beer, music, good food, parties, you name it. Travelling is just the best way to experience more of the above.

Music, Movies, and Books
Just about any kind of music...except maybe country. Some favorite artists: Eve 6, Mindless Self Indulgence, Gustav Mahler, Shawn Mullins, Enya, Audioslave, Aram Bedrosian, Tinariwen. Eclectic to say the least. Movies: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Crow, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Harrold and Kumar Go to White Castle, Fight Club, Hot Tub Time Machine. Authors: George RR Martin, Orson Scott Card.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Joined Peace Corps and lived in the poorest country in the world. Learned to speak an obscure language fluently...and now forgotten most of it, sadly.
Teach, Learn, Share
Often, it's the things you don't expect that you end up teaching someone. Then when someone shows you what they learned, it opens your own eyes to something new, some new personal awareness. That's just magical.
