About Me

NOTE: I can't accept guests right now due to a change in my housing situation, but please feel free to message if you want advice for Boston or to meet up!

Recently graduated from university, currently living in Boston. I would call myself an aspiring backpacker, and I'm looking forward to new experiences and meeting new people around the world! I love CS as a way to meet people I would never have run into otherwise, and to learn more about the places I'm visiting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people while traveling alone and learning about some out-of-the-way places. I have traveled both with and without CS, and I am fully converted. I've never yet had a bad time, and I've made some incredible friends. I particularly love how CS can get you keyed in to the daily life of the city you can't access as a regular tourist. I think this is how you really get to know a place and the people.

We all know that there's a lot of copy/paste on CS. To show that you read my profile, what board game is on the table in the 6th picture?

Interests

Learning as many languages as I can; I speak French, English, Spanish, and Russian decently, or I can try to struggle through Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic. I've always loved learning language, and I think it's a really important way to connect with people wherever I am. I always try to learn at least the basics of the local language whenever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently on a Russian literature kick: Dostoevsky and Gogol in particular. But I love movies and talking about them too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biggest culture shock I ever had was going from living on $5 a day in Gambia to more than $20 a day in Switzerland in less than 12 hours. Very different places, very hard transition.

Teach, Learn, Share

My favorite phrase to learn in different languages is "of course." I try to be a positive person so agreeing enthusiastically is a great way to do that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking! I'm more than happy to do all kinds of chores too. Whatever help you need. You are always welcome to come visit me in the US, you will always have a place to stay.

Countries I’ve Visited
