About Me

CURRENT MISSION

making new friends everywhere I go and getting to know other cultures

ABOUT ME

I am not good in describing myself but I would say that I became what I am after years of life abroad that made a difference in my life. I'm quite shy and reserved but I like to spend time with others and meet new people from other countries, I like to know and immerse myself in their cultures as much as I can and keep in touch when you leave my house, if I host you, or when I'm back home.
I'm originally from a small town near Rome, I studied in Rome, but I live abroad since 2010. I was expat for more than two years working as a civil and planning engineer for a construction company. I spent about a year in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, and later in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia where I worked for the development of an hydroelectric power plant. Since then I travel regularly to East Asia.
I live in the UK since 2013 where I work as a civil engineer for an international design firm. I have a passion for the development of large civil schemes, especially in developing countries.
During my stay abroad I increased my passion for discovering the world and getting to know people of different nationalities.

PHILOSOPHY

- Curiosity is the fuel of discovery. I never got stuck doing the same thing over and over;
- You can go high only after you touch the bottom;
- Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to contribute in building this community by making a friendship, surfing a couch or giving other people the chance of staying in my house for a night or two. I'd like to share my interests and hobbies, take people to places in Rome or nearby not just for tourists. I want you to live the city as a resident. I also like to see the hidden side of the place I'm visiting and to live it as a real local.
I want to build up my network, my relations with people feeling citiziens of the world..

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can't say I really have much experience in couchsurfing. I always thought CS can contribute to enrich myself by meeting and exchanging thoughts with other people..

Interests

I'm generally interested in outdoors sports.
I like to surf the net, reading about news, science, etc.
I used to read a lot some years ago, novels, science fiction, but I haven't had much time recently.
