About Me

Hi there!

I'm 21 years old guy from Jerusalem, Israel. This summer I'm going on a backpacking gap year in the USA, before starting my bachelor's degree in political science back in Israel.

I'm an American citizen, born in Ithaca, NY. I have started my trip by working as a pioneering/climbing counsler at a summer camp in upstate New York for several weeks.

When the summer camp ended I have started my backpacking journey throughout the USA. Looking forward to meeting new people, hiking through amazing landscapes and seeing as many live music performances as I can :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A major part of this backpacking trip is meeting new intresting people, expanding my horizons and being able to expirience the US in a direct and unfiltered way. Couchsurfing seems like the best way to achieve all that :)

Interests

I'm a big music enthusaist and love any kind of live music shows. I play the harmonica, love hiking and the outdoors. Back home I do a lot of weightlifting and long distance running. I try to read as much as I can and enjoy every bit of time with my family and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy many different music generes. From rock, folk, country and blues to hip hop, rap and metal. From indie, punk and ethnic to mainstream pop, elctronic and ambient . Deciding which music will fit in my tiny Sansa player took me couple of hours and was the hardest part packing :)

My knowledge in books and movies is less wide but I'm working on it :) I enjoy any kind of great work and currently going through the American classics. At the moment I'm reading Hemmingway's Islands In The Stream.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In every country I've been I saw amazing places, but I do remember one trip especially. In high scholl I've backpacked Norway with my older brother from south to north and the Fjords were breathtaking :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to tell you about life in Israel, handling the outdoors, playing the harmonica or any other subject you're intrested in. I can teach you how to brew authentic Israeli coffe and to show some Israeli recepies.

Anything new you'll be willing to teach and show me will be very appreciated.
