About Me
Hello everyone!
I'm Garrett, a guy from Missouri, who has lived almost all over the United States and now residing in Dresden, Germany for an exchange program. I feel like I'm lucky enough to be able to get along with most every person that I meet. I've done a lot of traveling throughout the U.S. and currently working on some European Travels.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've found that some of my best travel experiences were when I was able to connect with the locals either online or personal, just to figure out a little bit more about daily life in the cities I visit. Tripadvisor only gets you so far. Some of the real experiences won't ever make it on those lists, and that's why I love what couchsurfing has to offer. Being in the company of open, welcoming people, makes traveling even more enjoyable and stress-free.
Interests
An average weekday for me looks something like this: wake up pretty early, get a solid workout in, go to class/work, take a 30 minute nap around 2 (best part of the day!), cook something healthy for dinner, and repeat!
Weekends are always full of adventure to keep me motivated throughout the week, whether it's a roadtrip, music festival, camping, hanging out at the beach, hiking, or checking out the unknown of whatever city I'm in.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Way too wide of a spectrum to adequately describe, and I always feel weird using the word indie, but I guess Indie? Haha Also into some folksy music, spotify told me my most listened to genre is "fourth world" which I think is how they describe my studying music (usually instrumental with nature sounds)
Movies: School of Rock will always be a family favorite of mine, classic cinema like Casablanca and Hot Cat on a Tin Roof
Books: Just finished Aziz Ansari's Modern Romance, currently reading some Kerouac, love classic literature as well
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado almost every summer for the past 5 or so years
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a pretty adequate cook with a few easy recipes that I love to make and teach to others. I love working out and sharing workout tricks and strategies. I really enjoying sharing day to day life strategies with other people, things like "how do you cope with boredom?", "what do you do for stress-relief?", etc.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've got a pretty bubbly personality that I love to share with new people that I meet. I'm always looking for people with good stories and people that get you talking about their interesting pasts and exciting plans for the future. I love having jam sessions too, used to be able to pick a Ukulele, but the piano and singing are more my forte.
