I live in Chicago and love it. It allows me to experience a wide variety of cultures and experiences without having to own a car. My primary mode of transportation is my bicycle which I use all year round (although I still maintain a driver's license).

Interests

I work as a chemist, but am also a serious volunteer, volunteering for a wide variety of causes and doing everything from preparing mailings for donation requests, to painting YMCAs, to gardening, to dressing up and volunteering at various benefits.

I am a foodie and kind of a beer nerd who loves to see what's new and different. While I really like fine dining, I will never turn down a burger and a beer. I also like music, art, and experiencing different cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical tastes run all over the map, but they tend toward Indie, Alternative, Folk, and punk. Favorite movies: Memento, Reservoir Dogs, Rushmore, Star Wars, and Fargo. I do read a lot of fantasy and sci/fi, but I have also read several chef memoirs recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Peru last year and had the opportunity to explore Macchu Picchu and the Sun Gate which was a mile away and 1000 feet up.
