About Me

My name is Lee, and I currently live in Lijiang, Yunnan, China. My girlfriend and I run a guesthouse and a dessert shop here. This is my ninth year in Yunnan, and I really love it! Yunnan has unique natural scenery and a climate unlike anywhere else in China. The people here are simple and kind, which makes me feel very comfortable living here. I prefer the rural scenery and the opportunity to be close to nature over city life. We often go on trips, hiking with friends, and exploring nearby places.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We joined Couchsurfing four years ago, but had to leave due to the pandemic and policy reasons. This time, we consider it a rejoining. Couchsurfing provides us with a platform for deep communication, making each trip more profound and memorable. Understanding a place is about its scenery and its people! It is also a responsibility of those who live on that land. We hope to introduce the beautiful Lijiang to you through our experiences!”

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Building this guesthouse and dessert shop is the most fulfilling thing we have done so far. We were involved in almost every step and detail of the design and construction. The process of creating these spaces was a journey of turning our ideas into reality.”

Teach, Learn, Share

During the process of building the guesthouse and dessert shop, I realized the energy that comes from planting flowers and plants! I think what I can share are my experiences with growing plants and the insights I’ve gained from the process. Thanks to our garden, I deeply feel the changes of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and I’m able to truly appreciate the wonders of life.”

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge about growing plants and playing guitar. My girlfriend, who studies Japanese and desserts, can also contribute by sharing her insights and experiences.”
