About Me

Travel to me is not about places, it is the people I meet on the way. I am curious, talkative and interested in meeting different kinds of people. I also love eating and cooking vegetarian food, and I sample new and exotic flavors whenever I am travelling. I love animals and have two cats at home who don't love me back so much..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Each place I have been to, has given me the opportunity to meet the most interesting people I wouldn't have met otherwise. I can't wait to unwrap what else CS has in store for me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read fiction as well as some non fiction. I loved Crichton, never found someone quite the same. Really like Ludlum, Conan Doyle, Gladwell, and popular economics so long as it stays practical. I am currently reading Sapiens, which is turning out to be a fantastic read.

I watch a lot of films, from popular Hollywood/Bollywood to Korean crime drama to thai/vietnamese action to evergreen British comedies. My favorites are Truman Show, Four Loins, Cidade de deus, Gods must be crazy.

I like soothing music, sufi/carnatic and old songsfrom the 90s. I am just too attached to my playlist that i play over and over again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago I almost drowned in a swimming pool. From then it has been an interesting journey to learn swimming and cross the 1.6 KM Lake Zurich in freezing waters, with broken fingers.

I have travelled 39000 KM in Indian trains to all parts of the country, so I know them by the back of my palm. I have celebrated my birthdays, new years in the train, missed major world events being in the train, and met the best friends I ever had while travelling.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the advantages of a platform like this, is to get to meet so many people with diverse opinions, beliefs, sayings and articulation. To much extent, I am more interesting in learning from such conversations than the place itself.

I am a vegetarian, and I will be happy to share some of my cooking skills. I am also very keenly interested in learning vegetarian dishes of the world.

I also recently learned scuba diving, and I am getting ready to learn and practice freediving.
