About Me

I'm a pretty chill guy. I work a lot, and imitate work even more. I love meeting new people, especially if they're doing something radically different than I - I'm always interested to learn about the inner workings of any profession. I like to spend my free time playing board games or trying to find the most comfortable position on the couch to read (doing very little reading in the process). I love my cat, Bloody Baron, though I am yet to be convinced of his love for me. I'm also a vegetarian, but don't hold it against me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh jeez, I can't remember half the stuff I'd like to put here, and nobody cares enough to read through this anyway. Oh well, here goes: my music taste is pretty diverse and changes often; here are my top 8 artists from the past 12 months - Future Islands, Brand New, King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Run the Jewels, Mastodon, Josef Salvat (so you see that it's mostly hip-hop with some metal, rock and synthpop mixed in - I said it's diverse!). I like the work of Cronenberg and Kubrick - as film-makers, not musicians - and there are plenty movies I'd like to think as my favorite: The Usual Suspects, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Iron Giant, Glengarry Glen Ross, Moon, Brazil, Infernal Affairs, Groundhog Day, The Princess Bride, Good Will Hunting, Apocalypse Now, Bicycle Thieves, In Bruges, Animal Kingdom, The Hunt - to name a few (god bless the platforms made for shelving your interests, where would I be without them). I enjoy Lord of the Rings lore (my first and only tattoo is related to that!), but I like all sorts of books - my favourites are Lolita, The Grapes of Wrath, Slaughterhouse-Five, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, High Fidelity, Tenth of December, among others. If you've come this far, I can only assume you have the patience of an old Chinese monk or just have a weird thing for extensive and detailed interest pages of people you've never seen. Either way, I'm impressed (and slightly scared).
