ABOUT ME

We are Geoff and Karena from Sunny New Zealand :)

We love the outdoors so are looking forward to breaking our chains from London and going exploring in Europe. we love to cook. We enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new cultures and ways of living and philosophies of life. We take pride in our home and have enjoyed sharing our home with our friends and couch surfers. We love to be near the water, at the beach, sailing or walking beside the river. We met snowboarding and love being in the mountains. We like road tripping by car campervan or motorcycle.

We complement each other very well: Geoff is very laid back and easy going and Karena likes to have everything organized.

We traveled together for 2 months in the States: 6 weeks road tripping and visiting the National Parks, then a week in Alaska traveling on the Marine Highway Ferry, and a week in Canada, BC.

After a year and a half living and working in the UK it is time to start heading home to New Zealand. We will be doing a loop through Europe. We are doing the Bus-about tour, with a flexi-pass that gives us the freedom to choose our own route and to stop for several days at each location and find our own accommodation and activities. We intend to couch surf as much as possible and we will also have a few breaks working on organic farms. We want to take the opportunity to take our time seeing Europe and meet and mingle with the local people, hopefully absorb some of the culture and learn some language.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mostly We participate by traveling and couch surfing, we have just signed up as hosts in Jan 2013 for a few months while we have our own flat in London and are in a position to do so. We enjoyed hosting a couple of people and found it a very enriching experience. We are looking forward to hosting again when we get established back in NZ.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Geoff has stayed with a few people in the states through the couchsurfing website and really enjoyed it and meet some great people. He also stayed with other people he met on his travels and people he was put in touch with. Geoff really enjoy meeting local people and experiencing the local community. We are now traveling together and we have couch surfed together in Spain and are looking forward to doing more Couch surfing this summer.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Geoff likes horror movies, westerns, festival movies, and Karena likes rom-coms. We both enjoy, action, animated movies and thrillers.

Geoff has been reading, Jack Reacher, Game of thrones, World War Z. Karena has been the Life of Pi and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. We both enjoyed the Hunger Games Trilogy.

Geoff Rode a motorcycle 26,000 km around north America.

Karena participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker and walked 100km in 34hrs.
