I'm Georg Flückiger, I'm 24 years old. I was born and still live in the italian part of Switzerland. I just finished my bachelor in biology at the university of Zürich. My passion for biology, nature and biodiversity is deeply rooted and is one of my major interests since my childhood. In addition, other passions that I have are music, art and sports. I really love drawing and became also quite good at it.
With some of my best friends I founded an association with which we organize partys and concerts in switzerland. I always did different kind of sports like football (Soccer), unihockey, basketball, ping pong, jogging and yoga. My favourite sport is football and I'm a fan of the italian club FC Inter. Since my parents were often away I learned cooking very soon and have a quite broad spectrum of recipes, specially italian food like pizza, pasta and risotto.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to join couchsurfing because I think that it is really a cool thing to share time and space with people from abroad that are travelling in a new country. To spend time with locals is always much better than doing "standard" tourism. I would be happy to meet many new friends and also to host them in the house of my familiy in the italian part of switzerland.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is one of my major passions and I really like different kinds, depending on the mood and on the moment. I really like Hip Hop, Reggae, Rock, Funk, Techno, Drum 'n' Bass, Jungle, Psy Trance and Deep House. I have been to many concerts and festivals in switzerland, italy, germany, england, czech republic, spain, costa rica and peru.

I really like to watch different kind of films, but I don't have a very broad knowledge about it. The film that impressed my the most was inception. I like also to watch documentarys, especially about nature and history.

I like books like biographys and real stories. My favourite italian writer is Roberto Saviano, who is the author of some very good books like "Gomorra" or "Zero zero zero". When I was a child I liked a lot also fantasy books like "Eragon" or "Harry Potter". Another author who's books I liked a lot was Dan Brown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best experience I had so far in my life was volunteering in a permaculture farm in the middle of the jungle in Costa Rica. In this place I met so many nice people and had a lot of good experiences. We had to plant trees and I also did a small art project that is visible in one of the pictures.

I'm very open minded and like to meet new people. I really like to go out and know new places, therefore I would also be very happy to show you some nice places in Ticino.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a small but nice room for guests who are interested to visit me in Ticino (Switzerland)visit the lake and the nearby mountains and chill out a bit together :D
