About Me

I'm a quite easy-going person, who loves to meet new people and places. I like hanging out with all kind of different persons, have new experiences and expand my horizons and my knowledge, and hope that I'm an interesting person to others too, who would like to do stuff with me and find my presence enjoyful!!

By the way I love to cook and I will cook for you as a host and if you allow me as a guest!! I cook greek and medditerranean cuisine in general but I also love to cook different Chinese and Japanese dishes!! :)

P.S.: I used to play the guitar (both class. and e-) but now I play the trombone and sing! I can sing for you :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well thing is that I've hosted (literally) several dozens of people from all places around the world at my old place in Thessaloniki, from unknowns to knowns, either through my flatmate' s CS (Tasos Ignatiadis) or through other connections or random people who needed a place to stay. But my trips were always to places where I knew people or stayed by a hotel and now I want to embrace the unknown!! :P

And as I stated above I love to visit new places and meet all kinds of people. Being an open mind is one of the most basic mindsets-mottoes in my life, so here I am!!!

Interests

  • music festivals
  • dancing

Music, Movies, and Books

Well the list could go on for ages so I will only state that I hate greek trash music and a certain genre that has to do with my mother's origins.. Besides I love and listen to all kinds of music. At the time being I'm totally addicted with Nneka, jazz in general and especially japanese jazz but I always try to dig into new stuff!!!

Movies, hmm.. I became a cinefil the last 3 years so I cannot really say favorites, but I'm super interested in weird slice-of-life movies , some of my favorite film directors are Jarmusch, Lynch, Kubrick, Fassbinder etc etc

Books.. Well that's another story. I've read and am still reading tons of it. I'll only say that I devour philosophy (political/social/existential) at the time being and I will never say no to good ol' Bukowski.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple of years ago I was supposed to go from Heraklion (Creta) to Ikaria with an intermediate stop by Naksos (all aegean islands for those who don't know). I was supposed to arrive at 13.30 (from Heraklion) to Naksos and get the next ship to Ikaria at 14.10, thing was that the first ship has a standard delay of 30 min, and the a@#@%$$s never minded to change on the f@#$5g website.. Anyway I lost the second ship, had only 20 euros with me (10 of it should be my ticket), sleepless for 2 days and no way to free camp in Naksos. I'll shortly tell you that I managed to stay overnight for free at a camping site, met some amazing people (Rocking Brian, an amazing Serb who was in New York and now tours europe playing his songs, we jammed together for a while at his live show) and two amazing german girls. More details from close by, either as a guest or as a host.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to cook almost anything (that I know of course), help you improve the greek phrases you always wanted to know before you hit the coastlines of the Aegean or the Ionion archipelagos!! ;P

I would love to learn all kinds of new stuff, from cooking, to music, to juggling, exploring hidden treasures and whatever else!!

I love to share the tons of (useless as my friends tend to say :P ) info that I have stored in my hard disk (brain)!!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

All the afore-mentioned and many more!!!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Turkey
