Hello! My name is Georgia and I'm an English Lit graduate from the UK currently travelling China and South East Asia for 6 months with a friend from home. I consider myself to be fun, adventurous and easy going - but I guess most people would say that!

To meet new people and learn more about the world I live in.
Music, Movies, and Books
I've read a lot of the classics for my course so find it hard to pick favourite books! One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest stuck with me for a long time, as did Grapes of Wrath and To Kill A Mockingbird (very excited for Harper Lee's new book!), though my romantic side was won over by Wuthering Heights. I really like dystopian fiction so have read a lot of Orwell, Atwood, Huxley, Burgess, McCarthy etc. Just finished 1Q84 by Murakami and about to start Naked Lunch - am carrying a lot of books with me so if you're looking for something new then just ask. Happy to offload but only to good homes! In terms of music I like a bit of everything but my 'most played songs' playlist on my iPod features some Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, The Smiths, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac. Favourite movies is too tricky - there are so many! - but the most recent film to move me was Still Alice, which was the last film I saw at the cinema before leaving the UK. I also had an overly enthusiastic drunken conversation with a lovelh Norwegian guy about Into The Wild the other day, another special film.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I went on a science expedition to Svalbard a couple of years ago and trekked through the Arctic wilderness for one month. As a group we climbed glaciers and mountains - also woke up most mornings to seals chilling out on the shingle beach where we'd made base camp! So that was pretty special.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I'm more in a position to learn than I am to teach at the moment :) but I really love challenging conversation and discovering new cultures.
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can cook! And teach you Cockney rhyming slang.
My Interests
I'm a bit of a bookworm, but also love movies and socialising. I have a big family (I'm the oldest of 6) so I spend lots of time hanging out with them. My little sister is seven and is taking mandarin lessons at school so we've been studying together in preparation for my trip - some Chinese guys we befriended on the Trans-Siberian seemed chuffed when I was able to say 'Thank you Teacher' to them after they showed us to the hot water station !
