Hey!

My name is Georgiy, and I'm a software developer from Vancouver. I was born in Ukraine but grew up in Vancouver. I speak Russian, Ukrainian, and English. I've also studied French, Spanish, and Mandarin for 3 years. I love learning about different cultures and languages, and I'm looking to travel, explore, and connect with the world around me.

I studied General Studies in school. Early on, I worked on a startup that was featured in some magazines in Vancouver, and I had the opportunity to speak at some conferences and events to gain traction. Ultimately we failed due to production issues and I learned a lot, but the community recognized my work with the Top 25 Under 25 award in Vancouver, and I went on to be a freelance analytics and software development consultant/contractor. I'm always interested in learning more about other peoples' journeys and what advice and guidance they can offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I created an account because I'm starting to travel and explore the world, but as anyone, I live life on a budget (and I'm a student). I would love to visit and live in a different city each month for 2 years.

I'm traveling to San Francisco and Los Angeles (August 21-27 2018) with a friend, and I'm looking to see if there's someone that would be interested in hosting us and showing a bit around town! :)
