Overview
About Me
Hello,
My name is Gerry and I'm 19 from the town of Girvan, Scotland. Currently, I'm working full time as a Kitchen Steward and I'm undecided if I should pursue University or continue grinding away at full time employment. Recently I went on a solo trip to Dublin where I stayed in a youth hostel and got my first taste of solo travelling and ever since I've been hooked. I can make conversation with ease and I love meeting new people, wither it's just for a crazy night out on the town or for a wander about the city sharing stories and taking in the sights.
Apart from all that, I'm football daft and whenever I can get away from my work you'll find me in Celtic Park or in the stands of my local team Girvan's ground. Unlike a lot of people, the countryside is no stranger to me but instead it's the cities that seem so foreign and immense. I love hillwalking and it's a hobby I'm eager to take up once more.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new to couch surfing but I'm sure that it serves as a good alternative to paying for hotels or hostels and guarantees you company. Although I'll be travelling I don't want to be a total tourist, I would like to immerse myself in the local culture and meet and live as the locals do.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have much time for reading anymore nor watching movies but I love a wide spectrum of music, from Scottish and Irish folk to classic rock. Mellow comedown tunes on a Sunday morning or banging house music on a Saturday night.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a great sense of humour and I've got some wild stories to tell. Everywhere I go on my travels I bring a bottle of whisky and it's a great way of getting to know someone, chilling out at the end of a night out or around the fire with a dram in hand, sharing stories and having a laugh.
