I'm quite new here because I never used this app before July 2022 and later, after 6 months of amazing CS experiences, my previous landlords, closed minded suspicious old people, forbade me to host travellers (🙄); but recently I moved in a new house with a chill open minded landlord, so I'm again and active host. 👍😃🥳 I'm very enthusiastic and ready to make new stimulating experiences and knowledge travelling and hosting. I'm Giancarlo, gentleman from Palermo with a deep knowledge of this wonderful island full of hidden treasures (Sicily) so here I could be a good guide for a tour with my car, a fun company for hangouts and also a nice host in a big and comfortable house. I embrace the beautiful philosophy of CS, so fear not, I'm not a troublesome human case mistaking CS for Tinder (according to what some girl told me there are many... Just pathetic). 😂 But having grown up in a real gynoecium (surrounded by three sisters plus many aunts and girls cousins) I can boast an education that many other men simply don't have, one that allowed me to truly understand women, empathize with them and respect them. Some guests have made me reflect that I unconsciously tend to recreate the familiar environment I'm used to in my childhood home and for these host I was like a kind of big brother (not Orwell's one!). 😄 Be careful, there are also very bad hosts in Palermo, sometime I had to save some girls from bad situations with crazy hosts too! 😱☹️ But usually this is a super nice and friendly comunity, I know other very trustworthy hosts in Palermo. By the way I just know that hosting people from all around the world it's very intellectually and culturally stimulating and it's also good vibes and much fun, it's something similar to travel without moving from here. 😌 So let's have good experiences and sharing through CS, I'm ready to meet new friends from the world. 👍☺️💚

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Find good local guides and good company for hangout through CS is the best way to travel. Then when I'm in my hometown, Palermo, it's very inspiring to host or hangout socializing with interesting nice persons from the world that could bring to me points of view, mindset, culture and knowledge different from my fellow citizens' ones. It's also great to join them in some visit and be a tourist in my hometown and nearby it, in this way I can enjoy wonderful super close places where I never go when I'm just thinking "I'm busy".

Interessen

I'm very eclectic and multifaceted, so much so that being condemned not to be able to emigrate to California, as I wanted, (my sisters beat me on time and I have no intention of abandoning my parents in old age), I created a healthy and super stimulating environment, where I will never get bored, a sporting and cultural association where to practice martial arts (I teach JKD, Self Defence and Taijiquan), but also other beautiful activities, for example Acrobatica Yoga (really more fun than classic one, feel like returning to childhood), concerts (I'm a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, often playing in some jam session or as a guest in some concerts, don't have my own music projects now), exhibitions of artists and photographers (when possible I also delight in drawing, comics, painting, engraving and sculpture), cineforum (I'm cinephile and I have also been an actor for theater, commercials and short films), massages (have very good masseuses in my association; but also I get along), literal symposiums (yes, I am capable of making great use of speech and I also delight in composing poems), etc.
I also like folk dances (there are weekly events in public squares here), boardgames (I use to go in a nice LGBT vegan playhouse to play with some nerds friends), beachvolley (sometime I play in Mondello beach with some sporting friends) and many other stimulating activities.
Now I'll stop here or risk "putting too much meat on the fire" (as we say in Italy)! 😅
So I can really share a lot; but only with people I really appreciate and with whom I feel a particular confidence and affinity.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

It has happened to me on several occasions to save lives, which changes the perspective of life itself. Then in my life I have really collected a myriad of incredible adventures, exceptional (for many people even unimaginable in real life and outside of movies and fiction) experiences. So I have plenty of fascinating stories to tell.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

All of these, I'm curious and generous in sharing time. If you like I could teach you expecially self defense and Martial Arts (from softer as Taijiquan to harder as JKD) and if you also do something similar (martial arts and Kombat sports) we can have a very stimulating sharing. 🙏☯️ If you are a Musician too maybe we could also play music togheter or you could come with me to some Jam Session (in Palermo we organize a lot every week). You could join some AcroYoga (very funny) class which I attend from time to time (they are all very nice people) or we can join the Folk Dances group that have meeting at night in beautiful historic squares in Palermo. I like to read my poetries to nice (selected) people and to listen theirs. If you draw/paint too I'm courious to see some of your drawing/painting and maybe I'm ready to show to you mine. By the way I'm a little bit nerd and enjoy a lot to play good board games. We could also tell eachother stories (I had a lot of fantastic ones) and share ideas and opinions about everything. I'm very courious about things I don't know. So we could really share a lot of nice things. 👍😃

Respect, good manners, good company if desired and maybe friendship. Also I can give to my guests very helpful advices about Sicily and maybe could have some tour by car togheter if I have time for it. I can cook good pasta, sometime I do if I have time and good inspiration and it's very healthy and tasty food, I could teach you some Taijiquan or Jeet Kune Do or Self Defence and maybe we can also have a friendly light contact sparring (very interesting and funny, the best way to really know eachother 🤣), we can participate to some Acroyoga class (super fun), Music Jam Sessions or concerts I use to go every week, join Folk Dances in a beautiful historic squares (very nice people and good vibes), play beach volley in Mondello with some sporting friends, board games whith some nerd friends in a lovely playroom that I visit from time to time and then I have a lot of amazing stories to tell if you are curious about these
